The 2027 season, explained

For this season, Udupp is moving away from graphic-led clothing and giving color the space normally occupied by artwork, slogans and large visual elements.

The idea is simple. Fewer graphics. More color. More understanding of why we wear it.

Each drop introduces three shades with their own personality, mood and context. Rather than releasing twelve colors at once, the year is divided into chapters. This gives every shade time to exist on its own, to be photographed differently, worn differently and understood before the next colors arrive.

12 colors. 4 drops. 1 year. Each cycle contains three shades, and across 2027 these four cycles build the complete Udupp Color Lab palette.

But Color Lab is not simply about creating more color options. Every release becomes an opportunity to talk about Color Literacy, how color interacts with mood, occasion, environment, light, styling and individual expression.

One person may choose a shade because it feels calm. Another may choose exactly the same shade because it feels unusual. Neither is necessarily wrong. That interpretation is part of the experiment.

What stays the same

While color changes throughout the season, the foundation stays intentionally restrained.

By keeping the garment consistent, color becomes the variable. This is important to the Color Lab idea. If everything changed, the graphics, cut, materials and colors, we would simply be producing different T-shirts.

Instead, we are creating a controlled system where we can observe how one change can alter the entire perception of a garment.

What changes

The shade. And with it:

• the mood
• the styling possibilities
• the environment it works within
• the way it photographs
• and sometimes even how the person wearing it feels

That is where Udupp Color Lab begins.
